What is a Credit Union
Credit Unions are an international organisation who put their member’s needs before needs of shareholders as they don’t have any. Credit Unions are run a “not for profit” basis so you get the benefit on our expertise and profits. Any profit made is given back to the members as a Dividend based on how much you have saved. This together with the way we help the community and members makes Credit Unions an ethical way to save.
By becoming a member of a credit union you get the right to vote on all the matters at the Annual General Meeting which is be held once a year.
In the UK Credit Unions are regulated by the Financial Services Authority, FSA, which means that Credit Unions run under strict guidelines and rule like any Bank or Building Society. This means that all money that you save within a Credit Union is protected and cannot be lost.
